MEET RAYNA

Rayna Kingston is bringing something back to politics that’s been missing for too long — authenticity.

For Rayna, politics starts with knowing your neighbors, showing up, and leading by example. Rayna has been building community in Denver from the ground up for years. Most recently, she founded the Denver Activist Women’s Group (DAWG) that grew to 4,000 members in under a year, raising thousands for local nonprofits and connecting women to local causes. She meets people where they are at, gets them excited about their communities, and gets them involved on a local level.

Now she’s ready to bring that progressive grassroots energy to the Colorado State House, representing District 5. Her priorities are clear: make Denver more affordable for renters and small business owners, protect women’s and LGBTQ+ rights, and fight for a greener Denver. These issues aren’t talking points for Rayna, they’re rooted in lived experience and a knowledge of what her District needs.

Confident, authentic, and transparent, Rayna is running to make politics feel personal again—known by the people, not the party.

On the issues

Affordable Housing & Renters Rights

In a district that is made up of 60% renters, affordability isn’t just a buzz word. And as someone who has first-hand experience with homelessness, Rayna knows how important it is to have stable housing and a pathway to financial security.

Protect Women’s & LGBTQ+ Rights

Our community deserves safety, dignity, and equal rights. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, caring about our rights isn’t trendy for Rayna, it’s a part of who she is.

A Greener Quality of Life

Walkable cities, safe bike lanes, reliable public transportation are all measures for an greater quality of life. As a life-long environmentalist, Rayna’s priorities will always focus on making bold investments in renewable energy and policies that put our health and environment first.

Comunidad

Denver is home to both new-comers and long term residents. District 5 deserves language access, culturally competent services, and immigrant-friendly policies. As a daughter of a Mexican immigrant, caring for and uplifting Denver’s immigrant communities is a no-brainer. Denver’s diversity is what makes it great, so let’s get those communities thriving.

Safety That Starts Before the Crisis

Community safety teams, mental health crisis response, and safe public spaces are all things that District 5 needs and deserves. There is so much love and care in District 5, but we need tangible pathways to help our neighbors who might be experiencing homeless or are in crisis.
